Alpha Course

What is Alpha?

Alpha Logo The Alpha course, which runs in thousands of churches across the country, is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It is relaxed, non-threatening, low-key, friendly and fun. It runs over about 12 weeks, and each evening session begins with a meal, which gives everyone a chance to get to know each other.

What's involved?

After the meal, there is a talk, which looks at topics such as 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why and how do I pray?' After each talk there is discussion in small groups. Listen, learn, discuss and discover - and ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone, especially those wanting to investigate Christianity; new Christians; newcomers to the church; and also those who want to brush up on the basics of their faith. It might be for you, or perhaps you know a friend or neighbour who you think might be interested. If so, why not pass the enclosed leaflet on to them - or invite them to come to the course with you.

What will it cost?

There is no charge for the Alpha course, although you will be asked to make a small contribution towards the meal.

Where and when is Alpha happening?

These normally take place in the Autumn.

Traidcraft

There is a Traidcraft stall in Church on the first Sunday of every month. Please support this worthwhile project, which last year sold £7000 worth of goods in local churches.
